‘The term “Balearic” when applied to music creates
an elusive description which is eloquently cleared
up in this two part series. Listen closely because
we receive much of our inspiration from the very
spirit forged by the one and only Alfredo.
If you’re familiar with Ibiza clubland, you’ll be
surprised about the organic musical history of
this magical Mediterranean island’

Cadbury's Charlie Chuck
I've just been unwittingly reminded of Charlie chuck,
who used to appear on The Smell Of Reeves And
Mortimer years ago.
Then i remembered he also did a TV ad for Cadbury's
Double Decker, one of my favorite bars of all time =D

A Couple More Sought After Tracks
Another two i've been after for a long long time...
Clive Griffin - Be There [Club Mix?]
1989
Michael Rose - Dump The Lump [Keep The Fire Burning]
[Final Vinyl 12"] 1989
I passed up the chance of buying the Clive Griffin 12"
in favour of Laibach's cover of Sympathy For The Devil,
which is still an interesting take, but i now wish i had bought
Be There instead.
There was a house mix of Be There, not sure who did it
though.
There were 4 mixes of Dump The Lump on the Final Vinyl
12", two by Judge Jules [vocal and dub] one called Total
Gota Mix and then one by Paul 'Trouble' Anderson, i think
the one i'm after is the latter, but not too sure.
I'd be very grateful if anyone has either of these on mp3 =D
And here's the video for Laibach's Sympathy For The
Devil =P

Babylon
Babylon
Aswad's Brinsley Forde stars in this drama about the black british experience circa 1980.
From the writer of Quadrpohenia.
A film ahead of its time in 1980, when its rawness and energy seemed disturbing and, to be honest, exaggerated. It might seem just as urgent 20 years on. Former 'Double Decker' Forde plays sound system DJ Blue, a seemingly ordinary young working-class black Londoner. There's no special pleading here, but a series of almost casual incidents which multiply so that by the time of the rather over-dramatic climax Blue has lost both his job and his sound equipment, which has been destroyed by racists. The police too have taken their pound of flesh. His reaction is violence against one man in particular and an implicit rejection of society.

Neu Balearic ?
Lately i have become a little tired of 'bangers', and it's summer time, i prefer a slower tempo at this time of year.
Studio, Aeroplane, A Mountain Of One, amongst others, have been creating a balearic vibe for me, and Hercules And Love Affair's disco i absolutely love.
So here are a few tracks that make me want to don a poncho and travel back to Ibiza 1988!
Also included is a balearic classic in The Blow Monkeys La Passionara and a track by The Juggaknots that reminds me of my last summer in London.

Elektronik Supersonik
So, i was browsing through my play lists in youtube when i came across this, i had forgotten all about Zlad and his love rocket...
Hey baby wake up from your a sleep
We have arrived onto the future
And the whole world is become....
Elektronik, Supersonik,
Supersonik, Elektronik,
Hey baby ride with me away,
We doesn't have much time,
My blue jeans is tight,
So onto my love rocket, climb,
Inside tank of fuel is not fuel, but love,
Above us, there is nothing above,
but the stars, above
All systems gone!
Prepare for downcount!
5....4....3....1! Off blast!
Fly away, my space rocket,
You no need put money in my pocket
The door is closed I just lock it,
(Ha) I put my (Ha) port plug in your socket (Ha Ha Ha)
The sonic sky is bright like fire
You and me gets higher and higher
Cut communication wire
Only thing can stop us is flat tire
Ha, Ha, Ha Ha Ha Ha
Hey love crusaider
I want to be your space invader
For you I will decend the deepest moon crater
I is more stronger than Darth Vapour
Obey me I is your new dictator
For you is Venus, I am Mars
With you I is more richer than all the tzars
Make a wishes on a shooting stars
Then for you I will play on my cosmic guitars!
Ladies and Gentlemen
Fasten your beltseats
We has commenced our decent
I trust you enjoy this flight
As much as you enjoy this accent
Now back on Earth its time for downsplash
Into sea of eternal glory my spaceship crash
People have arrived for cheer me from near and far
And as I float I open door and shout
"I am worlds biggest, washed-up superstar!"
(Supersonik, Elektronik)
As for sure as the sun rises in the west
Of all the seas and all the boats I am the bestest
come, let me put ring of Jupiter on your finger
Then like a smell around you I will forever linger
Ok, is time for end, no more will I sang
Let me take you back in time,
I want for you to experience big bang
Long live space race
Long live, Molvania
Zlad - Elektronik Supersonik
